Axis Ceramic Matrix
Composite
from
$988.20
BrakeTech USA is very pleased to
announce the introduction of the long awaited, ultra-advanced
technology Ceramic Matrix Composite brake rotors for the
Motorcycle Industry. Incorporating now de-classified Stealth
Bomber Aircraft technology manufactured by Starfire Systems, this revolutionary
material will change the way both top-level race teams and
enthusiasts alike view their braking systems. Performance
parameters in-total make all previous materials and systems
dated by comparison, including the vaunted Carbon/carbon
brakes. This new composite material offers the best features
of iron rotors with the incredible lightweight of carbon, and
none of the Carbon/carbon foibles!
Performance features
include:
- Not
thermally sensitive (will work great on the street)
- Ultra broad torque curve across
a very wide thermal range
- Much longer lasting than C/c
- Much less expensive than
C/c
- Great wet weather performance -
unlike C/c
- Terrific feel and feedback at
the lever
- Strong braking performance? We
mean, Really strong: +.6 mu average friction with special
Ferodo Racing brake pads
Comparative Brake Weight
Stats (YZF-R1, 2004):
- Yamaha OE 320mm stainless: 3lbs
3.0oz at 4.5mm thick [1446grams]
- BrakeTech 320mm Iron: 2lbs
15.1oz at 5.0mm thick [1335grams]
- BrakeTech 320mm CMC: 1lb
1.2oz at 5.0mm thick [488grams]
Comparative Brake Weight
Stats for 6mm thick Narrow-Band Superbike:
- BrakeTech SBK 320mm CMC: 1lb
5.7oz at 6.0mm thick [615grams]
- Brembo SBK 320mm Steel: 3lbs
11.4oz at 6.0mm thick [1684grams]
Of course braking performance at
the extreme is paramount and the new CMC Racing series brake
rotors deliver that in spades, but with the added dimension of
a 65% weight reduction! Gyroscopic forces are dramatically
reduced creating a whole new avenue to improve the handling
and chassis-reactive dynamics that simply must be experienced.

Axis Ductile
Iron
from $269.96
The all-new AXIS Design extreme
performance rotors are here! Representing nearly two years of
development in high technology braking systems. Although
weight is virtually identical to our existing SuperLite
full-floaters, the new design bristles with many new and
innovative features making the all new patent pending AXIS
Design substantially stronger and with much improved thermal
transfer capabilities.

Axis Stainless
from
$278.96
BrakeTech USA is pleased to
announce the all-new AXIS/Cobra series extreme performance
stainless steel rotors! The new Cobra full-floaters feature
premium heat-treated 420 stainless steel in a newly optimized
petal design that offers style and performance with none of
the downside associated with conventional contoured type
rotors. The patented AXIS Design bristles with many new and
innovative features making them substantially stronger and
with much improved thermal transfer capabilities and any other
competitive brand.

Full Floating
Rear Rotors
from
$143.96
SuperLite™ REAR Full-Floating
Rotors
BrakeTech USA announces the release of the
updated hot new range of Full-Floating, lightweight rear brake
rotors covering most modern European Sportbikes.
Pictured is the update on the all-new 916-998 rear
floater. The completely redesigned unit is remarkably
functional being lighter and stronger than the original. Now
incorporating the patent-pending AXIS Design architecture
along with a new, more performance oriented combination
slot/hole pattern, the weight reduction is at an impressive
26% (1lb, 10.0oz vs. 2lbs, 3.2oz). Additional benefits include
reduced brake drag with a useful combination of more power
from a higher coefficient of friction and greater control via
improved feel and modulation at the pedal.
CNC
machined from 100% premium billet stock in the U.S., the high
quality, high performance SuperLite Rear Floater is the
obvious upgrade for the hard-core enthusiast and serious racer
looking for an edge over the competition. Priced at only
$249.95 with CNC machined billet aluminum center carriers,
other models include the Aprilia RSV, Ducati 999 and MV
Agusta.
The high performance SUPERLITE Rear-Floaters
for Japanese Sportbikes are specific to Suzuki GSX-R’s, TL’s
and the Hayabusa (Ducati SS & Monster series too).
Floating on special purpose high load capacity axial bobbins
machined from 17-4PH stainless steel, the design elements
allow the rotor to float and self-center for reduced brake
drag and cooler running.
The soon to be released fixed
mount series for Honda’s and Yamaha’s range from 25-40%
lighter than the O.E. units while providing a higher friction
couple than stainless or conventional steel rotors. Besides
reducing unsprung weight, additional advantages include
substantially improved feel and modulation at the brake pedal.
All the SUPERLITE Rears units are made in the USA from
advanced technology continuous cast and heat-treated Ductile
Iron billet. These high tensile strength ductile iron ingots
feature a manufacturing process that eliminates porosity and
optimizes the micro-grain structure. The precision ground
rotors are then finished with thermal bonded GunKote HCR (high
corrosion resistance) coating to provide quick break-in and
maximum corrosion resistance.

Oversized Rotor
Kits
from $584.96
The BRAKE TECH Oversize Kits offer
all the performance advantages of our high-performance
Full-Floaters with an attitude! Increasing the rotor size from
296mm/298mm to a full 320mm increases the leverage advantage
on the front wheel by moving the fulcrum point out on a larger
radius. The object is not just to provide more braking
power...but quality power with greater feel and control. The
Brake Tech Oversize kits do just that with premium grade
componentry throughout such as the lightweight aircraft
quality 6061-T6 aluminum caliper brackets precision
manufactured from solid billet for maximum rigidity then
anodized for long lasting protection. The distinctive high
tech appearance of the Brake Tech Oversize kit sets you apart
from the crowd and gives you the edge when total performance
really counts!
For those racers and hard-core
enthusiasts that subscribe to the "you can never have too much
power" philosophy, BrakeTech offers two versions of our
Factory Kits: one with the trick new and lightweight Brembo
4-Pad calipers and one with the superb performing Nissin six
piston calipers. They feature all the performance advantages
of our 320mm high-performance AXIS Design floaters with the
addition of the best of leading edge calipers out of both
Italy and Japan. These hot performing combinations offer
tremendous power with plenty of feedback for tactical trail
braking maneuvers. Recommended Nissin master-cylinder piston
size is 5/8" (16mm) or for even more power, the forged Brembo
19mm radial pumps. |

Hardware
We’ve had many inquiries for a left side
set-up to convert to dual disc, but found that configuration
is heavy, looking unbalanced and weird. Weird in that you
would end up with the standard direct bolt-on silver O.E.
caliper on the right side and on the other a gold caliper
hanging about and inch or more lower on a big and obtrusive
adapter bracket. Ends up looking asymmetrical and a very
obvious oddball afterthought add-on. Not pretty.
In
designing a serious Pro level brake kit, race track prowess
was the target but we also found that with most Buell riders,
aesthetics is nearly as important as how well it works. Our
goal in producing a dual disc kit for discriminating Buell
riders was clear: high quality, high performance and sound
engineering (form does indeed follow function).
What
we're providing is a solid improvement that speaks loudly and
clearly of a well designed brake system with complimentary
integral components. Looks factory, not obtrusive. Performs
brilliantly and is substantially lighter than the version
noted above. Symmetry is key in addressing the visual impact.
Plus the 320mm (Superbike) size rotors makes taking the front
wheel on and off a joy compared to the 340's.
Our
solution for the Buell dual disc conversion kit addresses all
aspects of performance with ease of installation in one
comprehensive package. |
